Excellence
We believe in what we do and why we do it. In a world where there are more and more meaningless and artificial trends, we want to express our truth and our land through our wild wines.
Because what really matters is not what you do but how you do it
An arduous and endless task
Our passion for our work is an obsession with perfection. The constant pursuit of improvement through research is a complex aspect but one which marks the personality of Gil Berzal
We believe in what we do and why we do it. In a world where there are more and more meaningless and artificial trends, we want to express our truth and our land through our wild wines.
The quest for excellence is an arduous and endless task that inevitably entails very difficult decisions for the winery. An example of this are the Alma Pura and Bajo 0 collections, which are wines that only come out in very special years and which result from a huge research and development project. In the case of Bajo 0, it was even possible that we would lose the crop if the right climate conditions did not occur. Other clear examples of our perfectionism are how our pursuit of high quality results in the extremely low yield of our land, much lower than the standard required by the Qualified Designation of Origin certification, and our strict vine-by-vine selection process.
Stringency, professionalism and rigour are values that run through Gil Berzal like sap through the vine. We believe this is the primary way to achieve excellency.
